Fourth year of the W, Wanted, Wasted, Wrestling; this year has brought WAUDEVILLE, and the fourth sign in the city of Bologna by Kinkaleri, Xing and local accomplices. The sign happens again to become a real space and visual point of reference for some life or silent proof of some happening. How many W’s pictures have been existing for these four years? How many appointments we got about the W? How many souvenir pictures have been taken with the W in the background?
Witnesses and references in the city-forest tangled of signs. A comfortable sequence, an encouraging presence that spreads in time, and in time it takes up space, marks different processes, linear and contradictory, logical or even apparently functional. This year, following request, the opening of another place, a BLOG pops into our head, a kind of happy hang-out with radar-men telling their stories, different, real or invented just for the pleasure to drive a flag-sign, now become a real and imaginary object open to new invention.
First we’d like to ask for your pictures in which the W is on the foreground or background; your evidence, document you were there, you elected it as a joyful symbol of a sentimental moment, with your relatives or friends, or just a snap of demonstrations or meeting, or simply the pleasure to take a picture of the W. If you haven’t taken pictures yet you’re invited to, as the W is a sought and rickety monument, a picnic or kissing spot. Apart from pictures, every writing or video or recording concerning the W is important for the BLOG, now and in future.
